Covid-19 Update

Since our last update the Trowbridge Future team are busy working at home, doing all we can to support the local community by collecting and distributing regular food donations from Supermarkets to vulnerable members of the local community. We have also been collecting and delivering prescription items to the community.

We are regularly calling some of the Community Hub visitors to “check-in” with them and to establish whether there is anything further we can do to support them, and to signpost to local service providers.

The children who attend our youth groups were delighted to receive a doorstep delivery containing an Easter Egg and fun activity pack during the Easter holidays.

The Community Hub usually offers weekly computer lessons on a Wednesday, where everyone is welcome to drop in and learn how to use their devices including mobile phones and tablets. We also run a weekly ladies group called BeYoutiful on a Thursday morning, a knitting group on Thursday afternoon, and a Kindness Café on a Friday morning.  We also have a community wardrobe and community fridge.

We also offer a variety of volunteering opportunities in the Community Hub, helping people to gain valuable skills and experience.

When we re-open the Community Hub we will be keen to recruit new volunteers.  In return for the donation of their time, we can give them access to a variety of online training courses at no charge to them, along with a DBS Certificate. This helps individuals to gain a sense of pride in their achievements, boosting self-esteem. Also, we would be interested to hear form anyone who has specific skills that they would like to share.

We look forward to opening our doors again soon.
