Community trip to the seaside with local support

Regulars to our Kindness Cafes and community activities enjoyed a traditional day at the seaside on Thursday 22 August, with a trip to Weymouth made possible with support from Cereal Partners.

The third annual trip to the coast took 30 people who attend community activities at our Shires and Seymour Hubs, and the Longfield Community Centre for lunch with a sea view and the chance to enjoy the Weymouth waterfront.

Jane, who attends the Seymour Kindness Cafe, said: “I had a great time with my Trowbridge Future friends. Although the weather was rotten, the day was brilliant. Money can’t buy that sort of friendship.”

Zoe Meaden, Community Manager, said: “Trowbridge Future is all about bringing people together and nurturing friendships and connections. The trip to the seaside was a fabulous treat for our community and it was a real joy to see people enjoy the chance to do something different.”

Cereal Partners, based in Trowbridge, donates to the charity’s community fridges and this is the third year that it has supported the trip.

Trina Moran, Training Manager, said “Trowbridge Future is such a valuable resource for so many people in our local community and we are really proud to support its work. We’re thrilled that we could give people the chance to explore the Dorset coast for the day, and to enjoy the time together.”
