Rebecca Lockwood Norris, lifelong Trowbridge resident, is joining our Board of Trustees.
Rebecca has worked for Wiltshire Council since leaving school, across many service areas, including Highways, Housing and Commissioning and now the Economy and Regeneration Service on the Wiltshire Towns Programme, helping communities to thrive.
She has experience in the commissioning of services for care experienced young people, specialist education and affordable housing, and is Chair of Governors at a Trowbridge primary school.
“I have lived in Trowbridge all my life and it’s important to me to give back to my community,” said Rebecca Lockwood Norris. “Bringing up a family has really opened my eyes to social inequality, and I’m excited to join Trowbridge Future to support people in need, and to help create fairer opportunities for all.”
Rebecca will take on the role of Safeguarding Lead, and as trustee provide guidance and direction for the community-based charity.
“I’m so pleased to welcome Rebecca to the charity’s Board of Trustees, said Chair of Trustees Jo Trigg. “Rebecca is bringing valuable experience from local government, and we are grateful to her for taking on the important role of supporting our staff and volunteers on safeguarding issues. We are looking forward to working with her, helping to lead the charity in its important work to support communities in Trowbridge.”
Trowbridge Future enhances the lives of the communities of Trowbridge, by supporting the most vulnerable to enable the change they want to see in their lives. We run weekly youth activities, community fridges, kindness cafes and a range of activities for local people to enjoy.
